"I was 48 hours from scheduling surgery on my shoulder/bicep tear. Aaron said 'send over your MRI info.' He got right back to me and stated 'this is a good thing. I think we can avoid surgery.' First session was dry needling and provided instant relief with zero meds. Fast forward a few months, with weekly sessions and I'm performing at a much higher level and BETTER THAN BEFORE my injury. This place is the truth."

Dr Mora performed a gait analysis for my chronic knee pain and quickly discovered the core of my issues. He did a wonderful job explaining and showing me from the video what I needed to work towards. His knowledge and time are priceless! Only schedule if you're ready to get stronger.

My experience at the Movement Lab has been incredible. He immediately took a holistic, innovative, professional, and encouraging approach to the issue and worked diligently to address all areas influencing my pain. After only a few months, I can now run, jump, and complete so many other exercises without feeling an ounce of discomfort!

I started working with Aaron when I was at my wits' end. I'd been dealing with nine months of nerve pain and limited range of motion from a leg–hip injury. His sessions are a full hour, one-on-one. He doesn't disappear after ten minutes or hand me off to an assistant. After months of feeling like my body wasn't reliable, the change is huge.

Dr. Aaron Mora, DPT

Meet Dr. Aaron Mora! Aaron received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from Southern Nazarene University, where he also played on the SNU football team. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Langston University in 2012.

Aaron has been practicing therapy since 2012 in both the outpatient and home health settings. He has worked with all ages across the entire spectrum from 18 months to 105 years of age. He believes that movement matters to all individuals regardless of age and definitely gained a new perspective on life while in home health: “Humans should take advantage of our abilities to move and be strong because one day we may not have the luxury”.

Aaron grew up in Guymon, Oklahoma, a small town in the Panhandle. Being from a small town, Aaron played nearly all the sports offered and he did not have to specialize like so many of today’s youth. He found a passion for movement and appreciation for what athletes have to go through with the different demands of each sport on their bodies. This, along with rehabbing after his own knee injury, prompted his initial interest in the field of physical therapy.

Aaron created The Movement Lab in 2023, as he was noticing more and more the lack of attention given to motor control and movement across the sport, exercise and rehab spectrum. Having worked in a high volume clinic himself he knew that was not the care he wanted his own patients to have. Aaron is excited to offer one-on-one care for his patients and deliver an experience they have never had before and, in turn, results they didn’t think were possible.

Aaron has been married to his wife Stephanie since 2012 and they have 3 children, Gray, Emmie and Dax. They also have a golden doodle named Banks.

Aaron enjoys as many activities that he can fit in each day. He loves being active with people as much as possible, whether it is working out, playing sports, climbing mountains, fishing, cooking, men's ministry, or watching and coaching his kids' sports teams; he wants to do it all. Aaron values time with his friends and family above all else in life. He cares deeply about his people and he is excited you are here!

Dr. Cody Mayes PT, DPT, CSCS

Meet Dr. Cody Mayes! Cody received his Bachelors of science from Rogers State University. He received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from South College in 2023.

Cody grew up in Claremore, Oklahoma, as the youngest in a family of four, where he was constantly inspired to keep up and push himself. That drive led him into sports of all kinds — from running in AAU and USATF meets to ultimately focusing on soccer and competing at the collegiate level. Along the way, he learned the value of training, recovery, and resilience. While searching for his true passion he became a personal trainer in 2015 which showed him how much proper movement can impact people’s lives, and that passion ultimately led him to a career in physical therapy.

Today, he brings that same mindset into his practice while also continuing to challenge himself through ultramarathons and Ironman triathlons. Through these experiences Cody has learned firsthand the ups and downs of training, injury, and recovery — he uses that experience to help his patients move better, stay active, and get back to what they love.

Outside the clinic, life is wonderfully busy with his wife, Bailey. In May of 2025 they welcomed their first child, Elsie. Cody also has three wild dogs — Winston, Archie, and Rockit. They’ve been his running partners for countless miles, though he has had more than a few close calls with them nearly ripping his arm off chasing after squirrels. At the end of the day, everything he does — as a therapist, athlete, husband, and dad — is driven by his family.

Knee Pain PT Questions?

Get answers to common questions about our services

Do I need a referral to start knee pain physical therapy?

No! In Oklahoma, Physical Therapists have direct access to patients for the first 30 days. You can skip unnecessary doctor's office fees and start your healing journey immediately—no referral needed.

What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first session is a 60-minute one-on-one evaluation with your Doctor of Physical Therapy. We'll listen to your story, understand your goals and your 'why,' perform a comprehensive movement analysis, address your immediate pain with hands-on treatment, and create your personalized roadmap to recovery.
How long are your physical therapy sessions?
Every session is one-on-one with your Doctor of Physical Therapy—you will ALWAYS have our full attention. Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes, unlike high-volume clinics where you might see a therapist for only 10-15 minutes.
Do you accept insurance for knee pain treatment?
The Movement Lab is an out-of-network provider with transparent cash-based pricing. We accept HSA and FSA accounts, and we provide superbills if you have out-of-network benefits for possible reimbursement of 50-80%. This model allows us to provide the best possible care without insurance limitations.
Can physical therapy help me avoid knee surgery?
Absolutely. Many of our patients have avoided unnecessary surgery through targeted physical therapy. One patient was 48 hours from scheduling shoulder surgery before we helped him recover completely. We focus on finding and fixing the root cause of your knee pain, not just masking symptoms.
How often will I need to come for knee pain therapy?
Typically, we see you once weekly for the first few weeks before scaling to every other week. Our goal is to get you moving without pain so you can return to your life—not keep you coming 2-3 times per week indefinitely like most clinics.
